Using Google Tag Manager with Shoplo is very simple. You just need to generate the appropriate code and paste into your Shoplo store.

You will need an account with Google Tag Manager. Don’t have an account? Set one up in here and follow these steps.


Once you get your GTM account and the code you can copy them into Shoplo.

Log into your account and in your dashboard go to Settings > General > Additional tracking code.

Copy the Google codes into the corresponding areas:

  • Additional code - 'Head' section
  • Additional code - 'Body' section

When to add URL redirects 

If you move a store from another platform, you should add redirects. This way you avoid situations where Google remembers the previously indexed page and when you click on it you will see the 404 page. Otherwise, make a redirect to link the old link structure to the new one. This way, your customers will still be on the right page.

How to add a sitemap.xml file

Go to Marketing > SEO > go to the 'URL redirects' section and click on '+ Generate site redirects'


Enter the sitemap.xml file address and click on 'save changes'. 

This way all the links from the previous page will be redirected to the main page automatically. No one will point to an address with a 404 error. You can edit and point to a specific subpage in your store.

How to add a redirection manually

Go to Marketing > SEO > go to the 'URL redirects' section and click on '+Redirect address'


Give the old path and where it should lead to.

Sign up for a newsletter

Your customers can sign up for a newsletter in two ways:

  • By completing the form in your store
  • Or by signing up after placing an order

If your theme does not have a newsletter subscription field, then you can choose another theme, create a new one using the theme builder or write to us and request to add such a pop-up to your current theme. Depending on the project, this will have an additional charge.

How to send messages? 

Shoplo doesn't provide a direct way to send newsletters to customers. To send one you need an account on one of the following platforms:

Please note that the use of their services may involve additional costs.

Integrating them with Shoplo is very easy. Just install the appropriate integration.

Once you've merged Shoplo with one of your marketing email providers, the subscribed customers will be on the right list where you can send messages.

How to offer a discount for the newsletter subscription?

Create a discount voucher according to this article. When making a voucher, choose the option one voucher per customer. In this way, every customer will be able to take advantage of the discount only once. Then put this code in the welcome message, which is sent immediately after the customer signs up for the newsletter.

Additional code

With some integrations, you can get the appropriate code, which should be included in the theme's code in the HEAD, BODY sections or on the order confirmation page.

In order to make it easier for you, we have prepared a special place in the dashboard. You don't have to edit the code yourself.

Go to Settings> General> Additional code - 'Head' and 'Body' section


Paste the code and click on save changes. If you have more than one code to add, paste them one by one.

Additional code on the 'thank you' page

Go to 'Settings' > Click on 'Orders' and find the script and code section of the thank you page.


Paste the code and click on 'Save changes'.

Google Analytics

Shoplo supports and recommends using Google Analytics.

How to add GA code and enable Google Analytics in Shoplo?

Go to 'Settings' > Click on 'General' > Go to Google Analytics code and enter there your Tracking ID.


You can find it in the Google Analytics dashboard. Log in to: and on the left side menu click on 'Admin'> Select an Account > Select a Property> Click on 'Tracking Info' > 'Tracking Code'.

The Tracking ID should be in the following form: UA-XXXXXXXX-X



Then make sure Universal Analytics is enabled in your Shoplo dashboard. You don't need to add any additional codes. Shoplo will do it for you.

In order to check if it's enabled, go to 'Settings' > 'General' > 'Additional Tracking Code' > Click on 'Toggle Universal Analytics'.


How do I enable ecommerce tracking in my Google Analytics account? 

Make sure you have already added the UA code in the General settings in your Shoplo dashboard. Learn more about this.

Login to your Google Analytics account > Click on 'Admin' (select an Account, a Property, and View) > From the View column, select 'E-commerce Settings'.


Enable e-commerce by clicking on the button so it will show as 'ON'.


How to Enable Enhanced Ecommerce?

Enable Enhanced E-commerce only if you want to monitor other on-page events than those monitored by Universal Analytics. If you are interested in basic events, then you should check ecommerce.

Before launching in the Google Analytics Enhanced Ecommerce dashboard, please contact us. In Shoplo you will have to modify the code accordingly.

When you launch Enhanced Ecommerce in the Shoplo dashboard, you still must enable it in the Google Analytics dashboard.

Login to your Google Analytics account > Click on 'Admin' (select an Account, a Property, and View) > From the View column, select 'E-commerce Settings'.


Turn on E-commerce (if you have not already done so), and then click on 'Next Step'.

Enable Enhanced E-commerce reporting and click on 'Submit'.


Excluding referrer domains 

If your store's checkout is in a different domain, then you must add a reference domain exclusion. This way, you will be able to track your behaviours' behaviour better.

Log into Google Analytics and on the left side menu click on 'Admin'> Select an Account > Select a Property> Click on 'Tracking Info' > Select 'Referral Exclusion list'


Click on 'Add Referral exclusion'.


Type all the domains you want to exclude.

Enter the following:

  • Your store's domain ( 
  • Store name on Shoplo's domain (
  • Paypal - In case you use this kind of payment method
  • and any other domain you want to exclude

Facebook pixel

Before beginning make sure you have signed up for Facebook Business Manager

You can install a Facebook pixel in four simple steps:

Adding the appropriate file to your store's theme

Go to Layout > click on the three dots > HTML editor


From the left menu select 'Snippets' > Scroll down and click on 'Add a snippet' > Name it 'Facebook'

Click on 'Save changes'


Click on the file and copy the following code:

Go to Settings > Orders > Scroll down to the 'Thank you page' section - Page content

The last step is to add the code to the head section.

Go to settings > General > Additional code - 'Head' section

Here paste the generated code from Facebook. It should look like this:

Remember that your-pixel-ID must be replaced with the ID of your pixel. This can be found within your Facebook Events Manager > Pixels

In Shoplo you can create promotions for specific products, collections or categories.

How to create a promotion

Go to Marketing > Promotions> +Promotion


Fill in the following fields:

Title - Enter the promotion's name


Promotion validity - Specify the time frame for the promotion. You can specify a start and end date or choose for this promotion not to expire.

Discount type - specify the discount type

  • Price discount
  • Percentage discount


Specify which products should be promoted. Choose whether the promotion will cover individual products, or the entire collection, category or vendor.


What happens if you add a product to more than one promotion?

Suppose you have a product that is in the promotion A -5%, which is an unlimited promotion (it never expires). But you want to create a special promotion for this product only for one weekend. So you can add this product to the weekend promotion B -20%.

Products always belong to the latest active promotion that they were added to. This weekend the price of this product will be reduced by 20% as the product will be in promotion B.

What happens after the weekend?

Promotion B -20% will end and the product will not automatically go back to promotion A.

In order reactivate promotion A for this product, go to your dashboard and select Marketing > Promotions> Promotion A and add this product again.


Shoplo allows you to offer your customers discount vouchers that they can use on the check out page. 

Go to Marketing > Vouchers click '+Voucher'


Fill in the following fields::

Voucher code: Enter a name here or click on 'Generate'.


Voucher validity - Specify the 'from' date and for how long the voucher is valid. You can specify the start and end date or select 'Indefinite' as the expiration date.

Number of uses

  • Unlimited
  • Limited -  Select how many times this voucher  can be used per customer
  • One per customer - Every customer (per email) can only use the coupon once

With the limited option, you can also select the option 'unique'. This will generate a csv file where you will find unique discount voucher codes.



Discount type

Select the discount type:

  • Price discount
  • % discount
  • Free delivery

The option 'Combined with promotions' allows the customer to use a discount voucher, even if the product is already being discounted. Learn more about promotions.


Select for specifically what the discount will apply:

  • For all orders
  • All orders above
  • Products


When you select the option of Products, you will see an additional field. This will allow you to determine if the discount is valid for each product in the cart individually or the total value of the cart. 


Finally, click on 'save changes'. 

You can send a voucher to your customers via e-mail.

If you created unique vouchers then you will see an icon that will let you download the CSV file

Products: Products > Select a product > make sure you are on the 'Details' section > scroll to the SEO section

Collections: Products > Collections > click on the pencil in order to edit > scroll down to the SEO section

Categories: Products > Categories > click on the pencil in order to edit > scroll down to the SEO section

Vendors: Products > Brand > click on the pencil in order to edit  > scroll down to the SEO section

Blog: Pages & Blogs > Blogs > add a new one or click on the pencil in order to edit > scroll down to the SEO section

Articles: Pages & Blogs > Blog posts > add new or click on the pencil in order to edit > scroll down to the SEO section

How to change the ALT parameter for individual images?

For product images

Products > choose product > Images > click on the three dots and then on Edit > enter or edit Image ALT text


For banners

Layout > Theme settings > Click on the banner>  Click on the content tab > enter or modify the ALT text.

You can set the ALT parameter for each image separately.
